Various Types Of Energy Audit Certification Courses

As a means to enlighten the people about the need for judicious utilisation of energy and preserving it for the future, a number of energy auditor certification courses are conducted by various institutions. Though the two major nationally recognised energy audit certification courses are BPI and RESNET, there are a number of various other energy audit training programmes that are recognised by EPA. The BPI is energy auditor training programme for commercial properties whereas the RESNET is the energy auditor certification programme for residential ones. The RESNET energy audit certification programme deals mainly with the utilisation of energy efficiently in the buildings. On completion of energy audit training programme with RESNET, the candidate is called a HERS Rater. To reach this level, the candidate has to undergo a written examination test that comprises of 50 questions. The duration of the test is two hours and the candidate must secure 80% score to b recognised as a HERS Rater. HERS is the acronym for the Home Energy Rating System, which is a rating system provided to the buildings based on the efficiency of energy usage. The energy auditor training programme gives a detailed picture on how to rate the houses. A rating of 100 is given to building which uses the standard energy efficiently.
